Manymade & Filmkontakt Nord Announce the Success of Their Spring Crowdfunding Campaigns.

08-07-2013 by RCFreiert

The three projects selected for the Manymade/FkN crowdfunding call in April of this year have just completed their crowdfunding campaigns, and we are very pleased to announce that two of the campaigns have exceeded their goals. In just 45 days, film project “Escaping Sunshine” achieved 103% of their 15,000€ goal, and “The Accidental Rock Star” blew past their goal to achieve 129%, raising nearly 26,000€ and becoming the most successful crowdfunding campaign on the Manymade website.

These projects have demonstrated the power and benefits of crowdfunding for filmmakers, and will help pave the way forward for countless experienced and aspiring filmmakers who are struggling to the capital necessary to make great films. With a carefully managed campaign, crowdfunding will not only help filmmakers reach their financial goals in order to realize their vision, but can be used to spread the word of their project, engaging their potential audience directly in the creation of the project.

We heartily congratulate both projects on their success and wish them the best of luck as they use their funds to launch and ultimately complete their films.

Manymade Meals @ Nikolaj Contemporary Art Center

15-01-2013 by Majken Overgaard

Thursday January 17  from 17-20 we will host another round of Manymade Meals in Nikolaj.

So come join us if you need to get your project funded!

This is the concept...

You join us for dinner and pay 130 DKK for the meal and a ballot. Around 30 DKK goes to the dinner and the rest of the money is collected in a pool. During the dinner, you can pitch your project to the crowd in whatever way you want: talk, sing, draw or perform. In the end the crowd votes for their preferred project and the winner receives the collected pool of money. You can also just join for the food and the fun - you don’t have to pitch.

Who?

Manymade Meals is for artists, musicians, architects, movie makers, technological entrepreneurs and anyone who is interested in experiencing and supporting art and culture.

Why?
It’s a chance to get together and support art projects you believe in while enjoying dinner in a casual setting with cool people.

If you have a project, it’s a great way to communicate your work to a new audience and possibly to receive some funding to kick-start your idea.

The programme is focusing on the “new nordic” movement present many places on the cultural scene today both cooking, literature and of course in the cultural and artistic projects at Manymade. An interesting historic reference is drawn to the 1800 century cultural exchange within the Nordic countries and the golden age. Listen to the programme and learn more.

Manymade Meals @ Republikken

17-11-2012 by Majken Overgaard

We had a great Manymade Meals Thursday 15th at Republikken in Copenhagen. Great people presented great projects.

The two most popular projects were Proto Printer - a new Danish design for a easy-to-use 3D-printer and the photo-project "Steal my Photograph". Proto Printer is truly wonderful piece of machinery, you can read more about it here: http://www.protoprinter.dk/
The winner of the night, however, was Photographer Lukas Renlund, who pitched his project “Steal my photograph”. The money he won will enable him to travel to Berlin and realize the performance there as well. We can’t wait to hear about how it all went! Read more about Lukas and see his beautiful photographs here: http://lukasrenlund.com/
We are so happy to be help his project come along and we look forward to the next Manymade Meal in Nikolaj Contemporary Art Center January 17!

Manymade on the Faroe Islands

08-10-2012 by Olof Werngren

Manymade has a just returned from at beautiful trip to the Faroe Islands. We owe a great thanks to Nordic Culture Point (http://www.kulturkontaktnord.org/) for supporting the trip.

We are still processing the beautiful scenery, all the great experiences and generous people from our visit.
On Thursday 27th Manymade’s curator, Julie Hjort, facilitated a workshop at The Nordic House in Torshavn for artists from a mix of different artistic disciplines. There were many promising projects and interesting collaborations that we hope to see realized here on Manymade.
On top of that we met a group of inspiring Faroese artists whom we hope to hear and see more of in the future at Manymade. Thanks to Kristian Black (http://www.kristianblak.com/), Jonas Bloch from Bloch Studio (http://studiobloch.fo/) and Jan Andersson (http://www.steinprent.com)
We hope and plan to come back for more meetings, workshops, Manymade Meals, idea exchanges and collaborations.
